Dr. Monal Shah has over 15 years of experience practicing general pediatrics and providing pediatric pulmonary care for children’s lung diseases including asthma.
Dr Shah is Assistant Professor at Emory University in Department of Pediatric Pulmonary Medicine at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta.
Dr. Shah is fellowship trained at University of California San Francisco in pediatric pulmonary medicine. After that she conducted research as a research fellow at Stanford University. Dr.Shah completed her medical education from BJ Medical College, Gujarat University, one of the top 20 medical schools in India. She went on to complete her pediatric residency in India. After coming to the United States she started her residency in Pediatrics at Woodhull Medical Center, New York.
Dr.Shah is board certified in both Pediatrics and Pediatric Pulmonary medicine.
Pediatrics and pediatric pulmonary is Dr. Shah’s passion. She is well-rounded and very hands-on in taking care of her pediatric patients and enjoys taking care of difficult pediatric lung diseases.
Dr Shah is well versed with management of all kind of pediatric pulmonary disease and bronchoscopy. She has a special interest in Asthma, Lung diseases of prematurity and cystic fibrosis. She enjoys teaching and stays involved in academic activities. She performs bronchoscopy at Children’s healthcare of Atlanta Eagleton campus.
Dr Shah is a member of the American Academy of Pediatrics and the American Thoracic Society. Dr Shah has hospital privileges at:
- Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta: Scottish Rite Hospital, Egleston Hospital at Emory Campus and Hughes Spalding Hospital.
- Northside Hospital: Main hospital in Atlanta and Northside Forsyth Hospital.
Other than English, Dr. Shah is fluent in Gujarati, Hindi and speaks little Spanish. Dr Shah lives in suburban Atlanta with her husband, an internist, and a school age son. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her family. She is trained in classical indian music and enjoys singing.
